Therapy for worry, panic, and feeling on edge

Anxiety therapy is support for adults whose worry, tension or fear is getting in the way of daily life. Think, Feel, and Heal Therapy offers it in Scottsdale, Arizona, and online, using CBT, DBT, EMDR and other approaches. You do not have to sort out the cause first. A conversation is a good place to start.

What anxiety can feel like:

Anxiety looks different from person to person. Some people feel a steady hum of worry. Others have a racing heart, a tight chest or trouble sleeping. Some avoid places or situations because of what might happen. Anxiety can also show up as irritability, trouble concentrating or a constant need for reassurance. Some people feel it mostly at work, some in social settings and some in the middle of the night. However it appears for you, it is worth taking seriously. Sometimes anxiety is tied to something in the past, and sometimes it is not. Either way, it can wear a person down. Asking for support is a reasonable response, not a sign of weakness. A page cannot tell you what is behind your anxiety. A licensed professional can talk it through with you.

Approaches this practice offers:

The practice offers several kinds of therapy, and you decide together which suits you.

  • CBT, or cognitive behavioral therapy, looks at how thoughts, feelings and actions affect each other.

  • DBT, or dialectical behavior therapy, builds skills for handling strong emotions and stressful moments.

  • EMDR, or eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, is the practice's primary approach and is trauma-focused.

Many people find it helpful to combine skills with a look at where the worry began. No therapy can promise a particular result, and progress is different for everyone.

Working at your own pace:

Therapy for anxiety is not about forcing the feeling away. It is about understanding how it works for you, finding ways to feel steadier and building on what already helps. Your therapist listens first, then suggests next steps. You can say no, ask for a different pace or change course at any point. Between sessions, some people practice small skills in daily life, such as noticing when worry begins. Others prefer to simply talk. The practice meets you where you are.

When anxiety and past experiences connect:

Some people notice that their anxiety began after a hard period or an event. In that case, a trauma informed approach such as EMDR may be worth talking about. The therapist is certified in EMDR, and you can read about her licenses and certifications on the About me page. If this sounds familiar, you may also want our pages on trauma therapy and PTSD therapy.

What a first session may look like:

A first session is a conversation. You can share what brought you in, ask how the practice works and see whether it feels like a good fit. Before the first session, new clients complete intake and consent forms in SimplePractice or Headway. You do not need to write out your history in a message or a form. That conversation is for your session.

Sessions, fees and insurance

Online sessions are available Monday through Friday. In-person sessions are on Thursdays at 9929 North 95th Street, Suite 101, Scottsdale, AZ 85258. Fees are $130 to $150 per session. The practice is in network with several plans, including United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna and Optum, and can help you check your coverage. Coverage varies by plan and state, so it is worth asking.

Trauma can sometimes show up as what people call PTSD or anxiety. If one of those sounds closer to what you are living with, see our page on PTSD therapy or our page on anxiety therapy. Only a licensed professional can talk with you about what fits your situation.

Take the next step. Contact the practice to ask about a first session. Call 559-466-9722, write to feelthinkheal@gmail.com or use the form on the Contact page. If you are in crisis or need urgent support, please call or text 988 (the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.
